The General Directorate of Mine Affairs in Erbil urged citizens and tourists to stay away from areas where there is a danger of landmines and ammunition.

The General Directorate of Mine Affairs in Erbil also stated, “although the minefields in the border areas of Erbil Governorate are covered with red triangles and billboards, and people have been warned about this, many people still live there and tourists do not know anything about them."

For this reason, citizens and tourists are warned to stay away from dangerous areas in any way, not to visit them, or to come to any area or place where they cannot access information, and not to approach it, where there is a risk of that. 

At the same time, the statement said that there have been a number of landmine accidents this year in the Erbil border governorate, which unfortunately have resulted in the deaths of lives.
