Despite US' Warnings, Turkey to Test S-400
Reuters cited local reports as saying that the Turkish F-16s as well as other aircrafts will carry out flights over the capital Ankara on Monday and Tuesday to test the S-400 air defense system.
The US repeatedly warned and even threatened its NATO ally not to purchase the Russian air system or it would face sanctions, Turkey however, received the first delivery of the S-400 earlier in July, with no sanctions from Washington at the time.
The US argues that the system is not compatible with the NATO defenses and that it would pose a threat to Lockheed Martin’s F-35 stealth fighter jets.
