ERBIL - A car bomb that went off on Friday in the Syrian Kurdish city of Qamishli, resulted in the killing and wounding of 12 civilians, a report said.

Reuters cited the Kurdish-led administration as saying that the bomb blast took place in the street of Mounir Habib, in Qamishli, killing three civilians, while injuring nine others.

According to the report, rescue workers were still searching for further possible dead and wounded in the wreckage.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), meanwhile, wrote on Twitter that "a Vbeid targeted Munir Habib Street in Qamishli city of NE Syria," pointing out that "the neighborhood is overcrowded” and reports of heavy civilian casualties are expected.
