Sadr Slams Hashd al-Shaabi Aid to Iran: Iraq Is Top Priority
ERBIL — Powerful Iraqi Shi’ite politician and the leader of Sairoon bloc at the parliament, Muqtada al-Sadr, has slammed Hashd al-Shaabi aid convoyed to the flood-affected areas in Iran, saying Iraqis were priority.

Hashd al-Shaabi, which is known for its close ties with Iran, delivered five convoys of aid to the people affected by the recent deadly floods in southern Iran.

The initiative came while a large population across Iraq suffered from flood and remained without humanitarian aid.

Sadr said in an online statement that they had to first deliver aids to the flood-affected in Iraq before going to other countries.

“Whenever the miseries of Iraqis are addressed, then we can help neighbors like Iran or any other country,” Sadr pointed out.
