ERBIL - The process of Arabization is not practiced in Kirkuk province only, but also in the other disputed Kurdish areas of Khanaqin and Hamrin, an official revealed on Thursday.

Talking to BasNews, Amir Raf'at, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official in the town of Jalawla, Diyala province, said that a number of Arab families have come to the area and occupied the agricultural lands which belong to the Kurdish residents.

He accused the pro-Iranian Hashd al-Shaabi militias to be behind the campaign of Arabization.

"Hashd al-Shaabi is behind the whole process [of Arabization]," Raf'at said, arguing that the governor of Diyala was also involved in the issue.
