ERBIL - Kurdish prominent leader and former president of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, will visit the Iraqi capital city on Thursday to meet with the country's officials.

According to Iraqi media reports, Barzani, who is also the president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), is expected to meet with Iraqi parliament speaker, Mohammed al-Halbusi, PM Adil Abdul-Mahdi, and the Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, the winner of the May elections .

The influential leader will also hold talks with Nouri al-Maliki, Ammar al-Hakim, Hadi al-Amiri, and other Iraqi leaders, focusing on resolving the remaining issues between Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
