The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that it has dismantled a criminal network involved in human trafficking and child trafficking, marking another step in the country's efforts to combat organized crime.

According to an official statement, the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate, working in coordination with the First Karkh Investigation Court, successfully arrested all members of the network following extensive intelligence gathering and meticulous field surveillance. The operation resulted in the complete dismantling of the group, with all legal procedures completed before the suspects were referred to the competent judiciary.

The Ministry stated that the operation was conducted under the direct guidance of Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Hussein Al-Awadi and under the supervision and field monitoring of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Intelligence and Federal Investigations.

Reaffirming its commitment to combating human trafficking, the Ministry emphasized that security forces will continue intensive operations to identify, pursue, and dismantle networks involved in human and child trafficking. Officials stressed that there will be no tolerance for criminal organizations that exploit vulnerable groups.

The Ministry confirmed that all suspects have been referred to the judiciary to complete investigations and legal proceedings in accordance with Iraqi law, ensuring they are held accountable for their alleged crimes.
