Kurdistan PM Masrour Barzani Celebrates 32nd Anniversary of Lalish Cultural Center
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – On the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Lalish Cultural and Social Center, Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), extended his congratulations to the institution’s leadership, staff, and the Yazidi community.
In his statement, Barzani praised the center’s vital role in preserving authentic Kurdish culture, arts, and Yazidi traditions, calling it a key contributor to strengthening unity and coexistence among the diverse communities of Kurdistan.
"The Lalish Center has played a significant role in promoting our rich heritage and fostering brotherhood among all components of Kurdistan," Barzani said. "I congratulate its team and the Yazidi community on this occasion and wish them continued success."
The Lalish Cultural and Social Center, founded in 1993, is renowned for its efforts in documenting and promoting Yazidi culture, as well as supporting social and educational initiatives. Over the past three decades, it has become a symbol of resilience and cultural preservation for the Yazidi people, particularly in the wake of challenges faced by the community.
Barzani concluded his message by expressing hope for the center’s continued growth and prosperity, stating: "May the Lalish Center’s establishment be blessed, and may it always achieve new milestones."
The anniversary was also marked by cultural events and exhibitions showcasing Yazidi music, folklore, and historical artifacts, attended by local officials and community leaders.
