Eid al-Adha is one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God.
The holiday is celebrated over four days, with Muslims gathering to pray, sacrifice animals, and feast with family and friends.
In Kurdistan, Eid al-Adha is a time for celebration and reflection. People exchange gifts, visit the graves of loved ones, and attend special prayers.
The holiday is also a time for Kurdish leaders to offer their greetings to the people of Kurdistan and the world.
In his tweet, Barzani echoed the sentiments of many Kurds, who hope that Eid al-Adha will bring peace and stability to the region.
