ERBIL - As part of its ongoing process of reforms, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Monday that it had cut over 10,000 illegal salaries and allowances.

The Ministry of Finance said in a statement that Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab had ordered the suspension of a total of 10,609 salaries, as well as, pensions of people who used to receive more than one payment at a time from the government, which had been indicated by the KRG's biometric system.

However, the statement urged those employees, who might suffer loss as a result of this decree, to file a complaint to their department or the relevant officials within a specific period of time.
