ERBIL - Iranian Health Ministry on Monday reported that it had detected nearly 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours.

Speaking to reporters, Sima Lari, a spokesperson for the health ministry, noted that at least 3,902 people were found positive for coronavirus across Iran on Monday.

Meanwhile, the novel virus took 235 other lives, with which the death toll rose to 27,192.

According to the spokesperson, Iran has so far registered 475,674 coronavirus infections since February, from which 392,293 people have recovered.
