ERBIL - A human rights group revealed on Tuesday that nearly 1,000 Kurdish porters, also known as Kollbers, have been killed in Iran since 2016.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said in a report that at least 955 porters have been killed while 387 Kurdish people were also executed by Iranian authorities.

Moreover, a total of 133 Kurdish people have been either killed or wounded since 2016, 73 lost their lives in jails, and 197 others were killed in landmine explosions in the border areas, the monitor explained.

Since January 2020, at least 150 Kurdish porters have been killed or injured, the death penalties of 43 inmates were implemented, 270 were arrested, 113 others were sentenced to 517 years in jail while three others were sentenced to death, Hengaw agency noted.
