ERBIL - Kurdish prominent leader and President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, received on Thursday the Iraqi Minister Yasin Yaseri in Erbil for talks on political affairs in the country.

During the meeting in the capital city, where the Kurdistan Region's Interior Minister Rebar Ahmad was also present, officials exchanged views on the latest political developments in the region.

Barzani and Yaseri further shed light on the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, stressing on seizing the positive environment as an opportunity to improve the ties and resolve the remaining issues between the sides.

They also discussed the prolonged war against terrorism and cooperations between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in this regard.

The Iraqi minister earlier the day met with his Kurdish counterpart and had talks about developing new means to build closer administrative and security cooperation, specifically focusing on subjects of passport, residency permission, and other related directorates across the Kurdistan Region.
