KRG Urges Turkey, PKK to Avoid Harming Civilian Security in Kurdistan
ERBIL — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has called on Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to avoid clashes on its borders that puts civilian lives at stake.

The KRG expressed concerns in a statement on Monday over an airstrike carried out by the Turkish warplanes earlier the day which injured at least two civilians in a village of Sulaymaniyah province.


The statement further urged the PKK fighters to take the security of Kurdistan Region's civilians into consideration.

Concerning Monday's incident, a local revealed to BasNews that a number of PKK fighters had entered the village of Bolle in Qandil and prevented civilians from going back to their villages before a 50-year-old civilian, identified as Abdullah Ahmed, was injured in the airstrike.

According to locals, the airstrike has also caused damage to civilian residential buildings and farming areas.
