ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister-designate Masrour Barzani received on Thursday the French President’s personal representative for Syria, François Sénémaud, in Erbil.

During the meeting, Barzani thanked the Republic of France for its continued support to the Kurdistan Region. He briefed the guests on the latest developments in the talks between Erbil and Baghdad, as well as the progress in the formation of the new cabinet of Kurdistan Regional Government.

Concerning the developments in Syria, Barzani reiterated the importance of a political solution that reflects the will and rights of all components of Syria.

Sénémaud said his country is committed to continue its supports for Kurdistan Region, and foster ties in all areas of potential cooperation.

He also congratulated Barzani and wished him success during his premiership.
