Khanaqin: IED Blast Kills Second Kurdish Civilian in 24 Hours
ERBIL — Another Kurdish civilian was killed by an IED blast near Khanaqin to become the second in less than 24 hours.

The victim was visiting his farm when an IED went off near Yousif Bag village and killed him, a security source confirmed to BasNews.

The man was identified as “Ali Mirkhan Jum’aa”, 77 years old and a resident of the village in Diyala province.

Late on Friday, another bombing in the area killed a Kurdish teacher.

The Kurdish disputed areas in northern Diyala province are witnessing a wave of violence mainly targeting civilians recently.

The area is under the control of the Iraqi government with massive presence of the Iranian-backed militias of Hashd al-Shaabi.
