Over a Dozen of IS Jihadists Killed in Anbar
Iraqi Ministry of Defense explained in a statement that a fighter jet was targeted with gunfire in Qaem city, in Anbar, where the aircraft was backing a military campaign by the security forces and tribal forces in the region against the militant group.
The warplane responded to the gunmen and killed five IS extremists while destroying a booby-trapped vehicle, the statement added.
Meanwhile, a tribal source told RT that their forces managed to kill eight insurgents in the desert areas of al-Jazirah.
Iraq has lately deployed reinforcements to the borders with Syria to prevent possible infiltrations by the Islamic State members who have lost all of their territories in the neighboring country and reportedly are attempting to sneak into Iraq.
