ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has extended his gratitude to Christians for their contribution to establishing a safer and better region.

"I thank our Christian community for their contributions to making Kurdistan a better and safer nation," Barzani wrote on his Twitter account.

The Kurdish premier made the remarks in a congratulatory message to the religious group on Easter.

"I extend my warmest wishes to Christians in Kurdistan and around the world on Easter."

He further said that he believes "diversity makes us a stronger and more resilient country."

Kurdistan Region is known for its peaceful coexistence throughout the region in all times. It is a place where several religious and ethnic groups live safely.
