Soran’s 40-Metre Dual Carriageway Completed and Ready to Open to the Public
As part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) continued efforts to develop public service infrastructure and modernise the road network, the strategic 40-metre dual carriageway project in Soran has been successfully completed and will soon open to the public.
The project is one of the area’s key infrastructure developments and is expected to play an important role in reducing traffic congestion within Soran and improving the movement of people and vehicles across the city.
Extending over more than three kilometres, the road consists of three lanes on each side, along with 2.5-metre-wide pedestrian pavements designed to support safer and easier movement. A major feature of the project is its 32-metre-high bridge, which is regarded as one of the tallest bridges in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
